Quotation planning
What should a fireplace project quotation include?
At a glance
Establish a common scope before comparing prices. Appliance supply, flue components, site work, delivery and handover should each state inclusions and exclusions. Actual costs depend on the model, site and service scope.
Appliance price or complete project?
Ask for the product name, model, configuration, tax basis and quotation validity. If a price covers only the appliance, confirm the remaining works separately.
Separate materials from works
List confirmed components with specification, quantity and unit price. Describe the work, responsible party and acceptance process. Show items awaiting site assessment separately, with a method for confirming them.
Clarify interfaces
Ask who handles transport, lifting, openings, coordination with finishes, protection and cleaning. This is a discussion framework; not every project requires every item.
Record changes
Agree a process for recording additional work, its reason, cost and programme impact before approval. Keep the final plan, scope and handover records together.
| Item | Ask the supplier to clarify |
|---|---|
| Appliance | Name, model, configuration and scope |
| Materials | Description, specification, quantity and price |
| Site work | Included work, assessment items and responsibilities |
| Delivery | Transport, lifting, acceptance and service scope |
Common questions
Is there a nationwide fixed installation price?
